How ARG Won The Motor Truck Safety Award

Creating a culture of safety is the key to success in the trucking industry.

Every year the New York State Motor Truck Association (NYSMTA), a non-profit trade association representing the interests of the motor truck industry, solicits all their members to submit their safety records and related information. NYSMTA is one of the top trucking associations in the country and the exclusive New York affiliate of the American Trucking Associations (ATA). As an advocate for the trucking industry, NYSMTA promotes highway safety and provides educational programs to foster a healthy business environment.

In 2012, NYSMTA awarded ARG Trucking Corp. the Motor Truck Safety Award, 3rd Place Long Haul, Large Class. Having travelled over 7.2 million miles with no preventable accidents, ARG drivers demonstrated a commitment to safety that serves as a remarkable example of safety to drivers across North America.

It was an honor to be officially recognized by NYSMTA, which includes over 800 member companies.

Additionally, ARG received the Great West Safety Award, for outstanding achievement in highway safety in the Long Haul – Large Class division. This award was subsidized by Great West Casualty Company, which specializes in truck insurance products and services.

As part of the Wadhams group, we’ve been recognized and awarded for our safety standards in the past. The 2012 awards were the result of our longstanding commitment to improving safety each year by reducing or eliminating the incidence of preventable accidents. Unlike many companies in this industry, ARG demonstrates significant reduction of safety-related incidents.

Safety is our bottom line – literally. It’s at the heart of our culture. Since we’re self insured, it’s in our best interests to focus on safety in every aspect of our business. Safety equals better service and operational cost-effectiveness.

Our safety department includes five field safety representatives devoted to working exclusively with our drivers on training, incident reporting, and online video training. ARG’s high expectations of driver performance mean we take the safety of our drivers very seriously. And putting safety first means prioritizing the well being of every ARG driver.
